MEET STEPHANIE COSTA FROM COSTA CREATIONS & CO.

My name is Stephanie Costa, and I am the founder of Costa Creations & Co. When I first started my business in 2019, I didn’t have many goals. By April 2020, I couldn’t keep up with the demand with only my scroll saw, so I got my first laser. Thanks to OMTech, I was able to propel my business! Although I was initially intimidated by the setup, OMTech was able to help me figure it out and help me increase my revenue. It also allowed me to connect to a new community of people. We share our successes, failures and support each other. There is a place for everyone here! For anyone starting out, take a chance because you have nothing to lose! It could be the best decision that truly changes your life for the better! You don’t know until you start!

What challenges did you and your business face before acquiring an OMTech machine?

Having a CNC machine with a 7W diode laser was holding me back from production numbers where I could truly make a profit. The diode laser was super slow, and also tied up my CNC machine when something needed to be engraved. A simple logo engraving, say 2x3” would take 5 minutes verses my new OMTech 60W would complete this within 30 seconds.

Why did you choose OMTech? Furthermore, what key features stood out to you?

I followed @edmonds_woodshop on Instagram and his purchase of an OMTech was definitely a catalyst to start looking at the company. In addition, access to U.S. support was a major selling feature and ultimately why I chose OMTech.

What were the benefits and overall outcome for you and your business after acquiring an OMTech machine?

With our 40W CO2 laser, we were able to double the business from the year prior, with less overhead and time spent making the projects. This made the business more profitable. In addition, OMTech helped us make our footprint on Etsy and making us more diverse.

What does the future have in store for you and your business? Any big plans?

Big dreams that are turning into big plans! We want to continue to grow and add more product. I do indeed see another machine in my future. If I look at my 5 year plan, I intend to have a store front and to run my business full time.
