So you've found the best laser engraving machine for wood. Now, which type of wood is best for laser engraving?

These are the seven best types of wood for laser engraving and cutting:

HOW THICK CAN I LASER CUT WOOD?

LASER CUTTING WOOD MAXIMUM THICKNESS: 1/8" to 5/8" (3 mm to 16 mm)

Depending on the hardness of the wood and the wattage of your wood engraving machine, the maximum thickness for wood laser cutting and engraving depth on OMTech CO₂ lasers ranges from 3 mm (1/8") with a 40W all the way up to 16 mm (5/8") with a 150W. Check the product listing or your user manual to find the maximum thickness of your specific wood laser cutter model for laser cutting wood. Most professional wood engravers will need a high-power laser engraving machine for wood (100W+) to execute the best wood engraving projects. Hardwoods, such as mahogany, cannot be laser-cut.
