How do you vent a laser cutter?

  • looking for the best methods!

  • Exhaust venting is actually pretty simple but also critical to your safety. Your machine should have a built-in exhaust fan. You just connect the venting hose to the fan and run the other end out the window or door. I've seen some people make a more professional setup with a hole in the wall and screens over their outlet, but it's not really necessary. Just make sure no one is hanging out around the outlet and your vent hose doesn't have any holes or leaks in it.

  • My 60w unit had a fan which was not sufficient.  I got a $100 pwm 6" duct fan on amazon that works way better.  No smoke escapes now...
